Another simple busy bag that packs a lot of learning. The 6 double sided cards teach the 6 shapes I teach. The 18 gems are purposefully 3 sets of different colors. The children can play with the gems as loose parts, use the cards for shape identification or matching activities, use them together to work area and perimiter concepts, identify angles and putting gems on for counting, or sort the gems by color. A challenge is using the gems for perimiter or area, then sorting only the ones used by color into a graph form and discussing more/less/least/most/numerical difference with concepts of addition and subtraction.
Choking Hazard! Small parts, so not for children under 3 or those still putting things in their mouths unless under direct, focused adult supervision.
